About Fiona

Fiona Rigg originally trained as a cook in the United Kingdom in the late ‘80’s and continued her study when she returned to Australia at William Angliss in Melbourne.

However, she left the food industry in the late 90’s and undertook further studies in interior design at RMIT and worked as an interior designer. Realising the potential synergies between design and food. Fiona undertook further studies in food styling and now freelances as a food stylist. However it soon became apparent that while the appearance of food was important the nutritional value and quality and purity of ingredients were important too. After examining the ingredients listed in many prepared meals, Fiona realised that there was only a small number of prepared meals available where the meals were prepared from basic ingredients of outstanding quality. She therefore decided to trial the pre-preparation of top quality meals for busy working families where both parent were juggling work family balance.

At the same time a position became vacant at a childcare centre and Fiona started cooking for the children, which she found truly delightful. She was given complete freedom to prepare wholesome delicious meals that even the fussiest eater devoured.

Cooking for the children also meant that fastidious standards of cleanliness had to be followed in the kitchen and has continued these practices in the commercial kitchen in Abbotsford where the take home meals are now prepared and have complied with and been certified by The City of Yarra’s Health Department’s Food Safety Standards.
